Farm

The farm is ideally located on the edge of the Cotswolds and benefits from its own microclimate due to the south facing and sheltered aspect. The farm has 40 boxes and various sized turn out paddocks ranging from small to large, for the different stages of the horses' development. The farm has four separate yards including a foaling unit and quarantine yard. A horse walker and lunging ring also compliment the paddocks.

Preparation

Full preparations of Foals, Yearlings and Mares is now available at the farm, under careful direction of Ted Voute. Team work is important, not just the people on the farm, but the vet and farrier are all important to produce a horse for the sales ring and we at Voute farm are confident we have the right combination.

The sales are the equivalent of a model training for a catwalk and it takes time and attention to detail to get a horse ready for a sale. The time normally allocated for preparation of yearlings is around ten weeks, during which time the horses will be under the keen eye of Voute Sales. There is a specific diet, tailor made for the individual horse and an exercise programme for each individual horse physic. In the ten weeks preparation, we do our utmost to correct any confirmation defects and sculpture the horse to look like it is ready for the sales ring. The horse is taught to walk correctly and accustomed to being presented to potential purchasers.
